Here's everything we know about the new season of The Fall (it's back tonight!)
AFTER ALMOST two years of waiting, the third season of dark thriller The Fall is here, and we’re finally about to discover the fate of killer Paul Spector.
Here’s everything we know so far about the new episodes.
S3 begins tonight on RTÉ One at 9.30pm

It will be aired on BBC2 the following Thursday – perfect for catching up if you miss out.
Paul Spector is very much alive
BBC BBC
Well, he’s not in the best of health, as the finale of S2 showed, but he’s going to pull through.
Episodes one and two have him fighting for his life in hospital under the care of Dr Joe O’Donnell (played by Richard Coyle) and Nurse Kiera Sheridan (Irish comedian Aisling Bea in a rare dramatic role).
But even though he’s been caught, expect twists and turns aplenty

Spector’s name is released to the press as the arrested suspect in the Belfast Strangler case in episode two, and wife Sally Ann must deal with the consequences.
The action is not going to end now that he’s in custody though, says Jamie Dornan.
WELL NOW.
And what of Inspector Stella Gibson?

Gillian Anderson is of course returning as the steely cop – in a recent press conference, she said what happened at the end of S2 is “disappointing and infuriating” for Gibson.
“…She got so close. So now, for so many reasons, she really, really wants him alive.”
This is the last season for Jamie Dornan, but perhaps not the last season of The Fall

The five hour-long episodes of season three will wrap up the Paul Spector storyline, but creator Alan Cubitt says it’s not necessarily the final season of the show.
He told Digital Spy that there’s been “a little bit of confusion” over what’s happening once S3 ends:

Dornan himself says it would be “asking a lot of the audience” to carry on the Gibson/Spector cat and mouse game for another season. He’s right, but we’ll miss his presence all the same.
Consider us intrigued. Roll on Sunday night!
